Cool temperatures? my memory seems to be too short, cause even though it's only been a couple weeks of hot days, I was glad to have a break today.

Inching toward Saturday, then I can spend next week drawing diagrams and charts and adding up mileage and planning for the training...not that exciting to some people, but I think I enjoy the planning more than the running itself. It's like I look at the paper calendar with notes scribbled all over it and think "Wow, it would be great to have run that much."
I might give myself some incentive to stick with the plan by signing up for the marathon next week.
And after all my babbling about Brad Hudson coaching Dathan Ritzenhein, Ritz went and decided to find another coach (old news by now, but I kept forgetting to mention it). Hmmm. I think I'll stick with Hudson for a while. I need to keep getting in his steep hill sprints cause I've been slacking on that for the last couple weeks.

I took a rest day on tuesday, which was an 11 hour work day at the end of a long string of work days. If I was streakrun.blogspot.com, I would have fit in some running regardless of the fatigue. Maybe someday I will start up a streak of running days and not break it even after running a marathon, but not today.
I slept way in on Wed. which led to running in the evening to avoid the hot late morning and afternoon temperatures. The heat is tough to get used to. Just a couple weeks ago I was talking about wearing tights and running in the rain/snow. My shoulders haven't seen the light of day since last fall. Need to remember sunscreen...

Easy run today. I had no problem keeping it at easy pace, cause it was warm (mid 60's) and I felt pretty tired.
Ever since I committed to building a base and building up my mileage, I think through my week and plan each run around my current schedule. So far I haven't been so busy that I can't get the running in that I want to. It's crazy how high of a priority you have to make running in order to get any level of training in.
